FireFly Fabrication's custom welded fire pit basket is filled with 7-9 handcrafted steel pine cones and 3-5 twigs and needles. This basket is round, 12 inches in diameter and has four legs which are approximately 1" high (which usually clears factory gas diffusers in most outdoor fire pits). The basket comes with a mixture of small, medium, large and x-large pine cones. We mix them to make the basket as full as we can. We sprinkle in a few twigs and needles for added eye-catching art and viola' you now have a piece of art perched on your fire pit. Not only is this beautiful it actually heats the surrounding are more efficiently, as it radiates trapped heat in the steel elements. Over time this set will patina with rust and take on a very rustic feel. Don't worry, this is what it is suppose to do. Likewise, propane and natural gas will turn steel black, but over time the basket will exude a more rustic look. While this is a complete basket, you can also buy the elements separately and build your own.
